My Favorite Beaches
Heading to the beach this summer? Many of us do for vacation and a much needed getaway from everyday life. I love the beach myself! The sounds, the sun, the scent--they all make me feel free and make me forget my troubles for a while. I haven't met many beaches that I didn't like, but I have my favorites.
Probably my favorite beach of all time is Venice Beach in Florida. It is very unique in its sand and "shelling" experience. It is known as the "Shark Tooth Capitol of the World." For whatever reason, sharks hang out there and lose their teeth there. Therefore, the teeth end up on the beach and are there for the taking. I have hundreds from my time there some years ago and I love them. Beautiful jewelry can be crafted from them and they are a great conversation piece when incorporated into our home's decor.
If walking down the beach in your bikini with no one around, the beaches of San Blas, Panama are the ticket. San Blas provides numerous sand spits with palm trees and solitude. Just be careful not to take the coconuts! It is strictly forbidden by the Kuna Indians who live there.
I love Ft. Myers Beach as well. I have spent many hours there with my family and we all just loved it! There we could enjoy the sun and surf in our swimsuits without a huge throng around us. We found many cool shells and lots of sand dollars. This beach is great for the whole family!
